BACKSTAGE PASS

Well... it's been a hot minute. No, scratch that - it's been a burning, searing, scorching minute. A minute that's lasted five months, in fact.

So let's get the niceties out of the way, shall we? You look well. Did you get a haircut? Is that a new jacket? How are the kids? And me? I'm great, thank you. Just been living life, working, starting my second year of uni, eating copious amounts of hot cross buns; just the usual.

Among my adventures was my experience of volunteering at VAMFF (Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival) a couple weeks ago. And on the last day of runways, your girl got to work backstage! I had the most fun time which is surprising because I was in black jeans on a 33 degree day with no aircon. AKA my worst nightmare. But being surrounded by the most beautiful clothes and humans made up for it. Seeing models and designer clothes that I have admired from afar up close was truly special.

Volunteering alongside so many like-minded people was also so fun. From helping each other with frustrating shoe straps to deliriously dancing around, needless to say that the ten hour shift was entertaining. Oh and guys, for one of the shows, all the accessories were from Poppy Lissiman and I almost DIED. A few of us volunteers jumped on their website and tried finding the prices for our favourite pieces (which weren't too unaffordable which in turn makes it very, very dangerous).

Before I ramble on too much, I'll just say that it's pretty cool to see so many people get that excited and passionate over some bits of fabric people pop on to cover their bodies. But hey, I think that's rather magical.

Until next time (because there WILL be a next time),
Mags xx
